MoneyMate
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 April 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how MoneyMate (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses,
stores, and shares information when you use our mobile application (“App”) and related services
(“Services”). By using the App, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Who we are
MoneyMate is a personal finance application that helps you track accounts, transactions, and related
information. For privacy questions or requests, contact us at
gashchuk2@email.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated when you use the App.
2.1 Account & authentication
- Email and password — if you register with email, we store your email address and a secure password hash (not your plain password).
- Sign in with Google — if you choose Google sign-in, we receive your Google account email (and related identifiers Google provides) to create or log you into your MoneyMate account. Google’s processing is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Session tokens — access and refresh tokens may be stored on your device (e.g. in secure storage) to keep you signed in.
2.2 Financial & app usage data
- Accounts and balances — names, types, currencies, and balances you add or sync.
- Transactions — amounts, descriptions, categories, timestamps, and similar fields you enter or that we import.
- Monobank — if you connect Monobank, we process data made available through Monobank’s official integration (e.g. accounts and transactions you authorize). Monobank’s use of data is governed by Monobank’s own terms and privacy notices.
- Receipts & scanning — if you use the camera or photo library to scan receipts, image data may be processed to extract text or amounts. Images or derived data may be sent to our backend or third-party services we use solely to provide scanning and categorization features.
- Preferences — e.g. display language, system currency, and similar settings stored locally and/or on our servers as needed to sync your experience.
2.3 Device & technical data
- Device and OS information — such as device type, operating system version, and app version, to diagnose issues and improve compatibility.
- Log data — basic server or client logs (e.g. errors, timestamps, IP address) when you use our API, for security and reliability.
2.4 Subscriptions (if enabled)
If the App offers in-app purchases or subscriptions, purchase validation may be handled by
Apple App Store, Google Play, and/or a subscription SDK (e.g. RevenueCat).
We do not receive your full payment card number from those platforms. Third-party processors have their own privacy policies.
3. How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App and Services;
- Authenticate you and protect your account;
- Sync and display your financial data as you configure the App;
- Send essential service messages (e.g. password reset if you use that feature);
- Comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect rights and safety.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your financial data for third-party advertising.
4. Exchange rates (NBU)
To show approximate amounts in a chosen display currency, the App may fetch public exchange-rate data
from the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) over the network. Those requests typically do not include your name or account identifiers;
they are standard HTTPS requests for published rates. See NBU’s site for their policies.
5. Legal bases (EEA / UK users)
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Contract — processing necessary to provide the Services you request;
- Legitimate interests — e.g. security, fraud prevention, and improving the App, where not overridden by your rights;
- Consent — where required (e.g. certain optional integrations or marketing, if we add them and ask you);
- Legal obligation — where we must comply with applicable law.
6. Sharing with third parties
We may share data with:
- Infrastructure providers — e.g. cloud hosting and databases that store App data;
- Authentication & push — e.g. Google (Sign-In / Firebase-related services as configured in the App);
- Banking APIs — Monobank when you explicitly connect your account;
- Apple / Google — for app distribution, payments, and platform services as applicable;
- Professional advisers — lawyers or accountants where required by law.
We require service providers to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.
7. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own (for example, where our servers or providers are located).
Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for transfers from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland.
8. Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services.
If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal data in line with our
Account & Data Deletion information, except where we must retain
minimal records for legal, tax, or security reasons (e.g. short-lived logs).
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information (including encryption in transit via HTTPS,
secure storage for tokens where applicable, and access controls on our systems). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Data portability;
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based;
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
You can delete your account from the App (Settings) as described in our
delete account page, or email us at the addresses listed there if you cannot access the App.
11. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect
personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version in the App or on our website and update the
“Last updated” date. Material changes may require additional notice where required by law.
